Why would any domain creating company allow someone to register under a hotmail address? ludicrus… Why not?  People’s ISP’s change.  Hotmail addresses can be more sticky.  I wish I had registered my domain with a hotmail address.  I registered it with my ISP email address and my ISP folded and now I have to jump through more hoops than I care to jump through to register a different email address with Network Solutions.

Don’t understand that at all… NetworkSolutions doesn’t have anything to do with ISPs per se, just domain names. If you get another ISP, YOU don’t have to do anything with NS, just let everyone, including eBay, know your new email address. And, btw, you can certainly change your email address with eBay to a hotmail addy if you want to, although they might require a credit card on file if you don’t already have one there (or maybe they won’t, since you’re already a current user). — Mac (doogle) www.doogle.com

That’s why after your domain is registered, you change your handle information to use the e-mail address based off of your new domain. Lee Cao Then I would still have the problem of having to jump through hoops and barrels to change my e-mail address registered with network solutions.

All it takes is filling out one form and sending them two e-mails.  I’ve done this many times while managing the domains I have.  It is a rather simple process. — Lee Cao – www.leecao.com BlueText Development  - www.bluetextdev.com RC Central – www.rccentral.com

Then your host goes belly up and you can’t use your domain-based email to change your dns records to a new host. Same problem.

It’s not a perfect solution, but it’s the best I can think of.  Web hosting companies usually don’t go belly up overnight. David
