Hello everyone I was just wondering IF I acquire a domain name and open up a business could I change my ebay user name to reflect this and keep all my wonderful positive feedbacks? I have noticed people have the user name of their business like say for instance an ebay user named ashcroft.com or something like this. I may take the time to make a really nice web site and would like to make it my ebay name as well. On one further note I downloaded a spell checking program for my email application so I hope everyone is happy now.
You can do this just fine… however, I don’t think eBay allows things like ashcroft.com or ashcroftdotcom anymore. Could be wrong, but I wasn’t able to get it to go through when I tried recently. You also need to determine if, in fact, the name you want to use is available. It may already be taken by someone. I actually took the opposite course, I hope to open a business sometime during the latter part of next year. I got my domain name, grabbed a list name on Yahoogroups and also registered an eBay ID. Since most of my customers will likely be people I’m already acquainted with, I’m not worried about having (0) feedback on that ID. I do however plan to use the ID to do a little buying of tools and equipment for my business so that I hopefully have my first star before opening. I’ll keep my regular ID for selling non-business items, i.e. my usual household junk. Cynthia

My brother was able to change his ID to his business name. The feedbacks transfered over, but he had sunglasses next to his ID for awhile. Tim923

You can do this UNLESS someone else already has that username. My domain name is doittoday.com; but someone else had already taken doittoday as a username, so I couldn’t get it for myself. Bill Johnson Rebel Without A Clue
