fraud charges

Question:

I reported her to ifccfbi.  Although they did said the local authorities could get involved, they did not spell out exactly what will happen.  I don’t know if the purpose of the site was to keep track of internet fraud or to go after them.  I did get an email acknowledging my complaint but they did not say what will happen next.  Are they going to contact her and get her side of the story or what? They did say I should keep all on the evidence, like cancelled checks, in a safe place.  Oh well, it is better than nothing.  I did tell them I will file charges.

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I have just heard of some other internet fraud sites and I will report her to them also. Two of her ids were NARU’ed after I filed the charges but I am sure she will just use or is using another ID I’d report the matter to the Internet Fraud Complaint Center www.ifccfbi.gov They will forward the complaint to all local, state, and federal agencies that have any jurisdiction on the matter.  It’s  new, it’s fast, and it’s easy.

has anyone had to file for fraud charges against a seller and if so, what were the results?

Response:

I once bought a item from a seller that was not as described. It was a set of cards that the seller said was "mint" and when I recieved them they were trashed. I got ripped off; $50.00. I emailed the seller (nicely) dsribed the situation. Of course after 2 weeks with no answer I decided to make a last ditch attempt at getting my money back… I emailed the seller saying that I was a small buisness owner who had nothing better to do then to fly out to his area of the country and take his ass to court. I got his phone number and address from eBay. 15 MINUTES later… I got a email from the seller saying he was out of town for 2 weeks (yeah right!)  and that he will send me a money order the next day. He did send the money order and I sent the cards back to him. KR23

That is a sad story!  In my case I was robbed by upscayle or Carol Manser or lizardlounge or mackenzyfrenzy.  Depending on what name she feels like using at the moment.  I paid for the item and she never sent it.  Refused to answer any of my emails.  I filed fraud charges with ebay and I also filed an insurance claim on which I am still waiting for a response.  I have just heard of some other internet fraud sites and I will report her to them also. Two of her ids were NARU’ed after I filed the charges but I am sure she will just use or is using another ID But I guess the moral of your story is to stay within the $200 range since that is all that is covered.  Although hopefully I will get the claim and that will cover my lost, I am still burned by the whole thing.  It makes me mad that these people can just take your money and can just walk away untouched.  While we was both robbed, you have the worse of it.  And the sad fact is that even if ebay did suspend them, all they have to do is get a new email address and they are back in business.  Have you spent that kind of money ($3,000) before on ebay and did that auction go well? – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – has anyone had to file for fraud charges against a seller and if so, what were the results? $2950 Fraud -see www.angelfire.com/tx3/truthtold for details. got a check for $175.  Seller is still selling.
