Question:
That’s too bad about the feedbacks. You’d think people would realize that it’s not your fault. Cynthia
– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – It’s happened here in NY, too. I mailed out 2 priority packages around Christmas week and just now they both received it. As a result of their slow delivery, I get a lukewarm positive feedback. K.
Response:
Boy do I hear you on this. I got a Priority pkg today that took 10 days to get here. I have another one that I am still waiting on. My stuff seems to get where it is supposed to pretty quickly, but the stuff to me…. even MO’s is taking FOREVER! Stevie
– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Has or is the PO ever gonna recover from the holidays? I mean, I mailed a PM envelope, from CA to TX, to a business on the 4th and it was delivered today. I know there is no guarantee, but jeez. Honest, one of the BOOK RATE items I shipped from CA to FL made it by the 8th! The other Book rate item, to MN, made it today as well. Makes me wonder. I’ve been having great results with book rate, even through the holidays, but my PM packages have been arriving in their own sweet time. Now, as far as I know there is no horrible ice or snow going on in SE Texas, or is there? Certainly my sister hasn’t mentioned anything and she lives in the same city my envelope went to. Anyone else, or is it just my PO? Cynthia
Response:
You don’t think it is coincidence that the PO is bringing in FedEx and DHL to pinch hit? As long as the PO is not a REAL business, it will be slow. Holidays or no holidays. It is the beginning of the end. Mike

There has to be some sort of bottleneck in the mail somewhere between California and Texas that just doesn’t catch mail coming from other parts of the country. Now to be fair, I don’t receive priority mail from California, just first class. Richard Ward
It’s the international quarantine, Richard. I’m pretty sure that California lost their favored nation status with the Republic of Texas about 30 years ago & there’s very little hope of getting it restored until some kind of diplomatic relations can be worked out. Most of my stuff has been moving pretty quickly, Cynthia, but the _crowds_ at the post offices have not abated in the least. If anything, they are worse and I cannot imagine why. Ten minutes is my best time through the line, no matter what branch office, day or time I choose. Aren’t they still using the Pony Express to deliver mail to y’all? No wonder it takes so long

Response:
They were bad, but seem to be easing up a tad at my PO. I bet a lot of it is people buying stamps, or people getting 1-centers. Or just general confusion and arguing over the new rates. At my PO, half the hold-up sometimes is a clerk explaining the different options for sending something and what they cost. Cynthia

I have gotten checks from Texas to CA (from same location as I sent my PM letter to) in three days… seems fairly normal. I guess the bottleneck is from here to there. Next time, I might not bother with PM. At least this was not an eBay transaction, just some private business. I know there is almost never snow in SE Texas, I grew up there… I think it snowed about once every 11-13 years. Snow that actually STAYED on the ground for a bit was really rare. Cynthia
– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – No snow in southeast Texas (there’s almost never snow in southeast Texas), but I can say one thing. I get a lot of checks from California, and they take longer to arrive in Texas from California on average than from any point of origin in the US, including Alaska and Hawaii. Seven days for a first class letter isn’t out of the ordinary at all. This has been going on for as long as I’ve been selling on eBay. People buying one cent stamps clogged the post office here early this week, but the crowds had disappeared by Wednesday. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – <snip Most of my stuff has been moving pretty quickly, Cynthia, but the _crowds_ at the post offices have not abated in the least. This is all the fault of George Bush Sr. A lot of people misunderstood his campaign promise, but what he really said was: "Read my lips. Slow to Texas." GK

Laurie, It’s my understanding that they are, but in a couple of weeks, we’ll be switching back to Air Force One . . Rod — Moderation is okay as long as you don’t overdo it.

I’ve had two priority boxes from NYC since xmas, one took 6 biz days, one took 7! I’ve SENT the two back (with work inside) and each took the normal 2 biz days (1.5 days actually). So the glitch has been getting OUT of NYC. — Mac (eBay: doogle) www.doogle.com
