Question:
I recently opened up an eBay Store and ran a multiple quantity auction as a test.
A test of what? The title of the auction said Test and the description said Test, nothing else, I closed it after a day.
So why did it take a day to test something? The person E-mailed me, I responded that there was no product. It was just a Test. A few days later, I get negged.
You seem to have left out the part about "I sold an item to a FB buyer from a test auction I had no business running, and he got ticked because I then refused to answer his emails". You are aware, of course, that you must offer a product in an ebaY auction? You just admitted you didn’t. BTW, the test auction area is intended for ebaY personnel, which I doubt that you are. — Outgoing mail is certified bollocks
Response:
Whilst the auction may have been a test for description/layout, by giving someone a positive for it you are taking it beyond a test.
Such a test is totally unnecessary regardless: http://www.practiceboard.com http://auctionsupplies.com/practice/ebay.shtml Even if he wanted to see exactly how ebaY handled it, the auction could have been cancelled within seconds of being posted, instead of a day. — Outgoing mail is certified bollocks

Not true. But either way, he failed to follow the rules for test auctions. http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-test.html jim menning

At ebaY university, they told us the test category was for ebaY personnel only. It doesn’t surprise me that they don’t follow their own rules. — Outgoing mail is certified bollocks

"ebaY university" !!! Can one buy new, clean keyboards from eBay ?

A multiple quantity auction in an eBay store. You seem to have left out the part about "I sold an item to a FB buyer from a test auction I had no business running, and he got ticked because I then refused to answer his emails".
I answered the psycho through eBay. You are aware, of course, that you must offer a product in an ebaY auction?
Not in a test auction. BTW, the test auction area is intended for ebaY personnel
That’s why regular members are permitted to post auctions there? , which I doubt that you are.
The posting of this person’s ID/feedback is liable to get him blocked by some people. If that bothers you in anyway, too bad. Off to create that new eBay ID with my new feedback hostage policy. 120 positives should be a cinch…

You left him a positive. Whilst the auction may have been a test for description/layout, by giving someone a positive for it you are taking it beyond a test. So, maybe you didn’t respond to e-mails, maybe he was looking to Neg you from the word go…and you know what? I would be wanting to Neg someone on those grounds too. If you can’t properly respond to e-mails on a test auction, then you have to live with the consequences. Perhaps you ran into a "mystery shopper" lol. Bwahahahahahhaahahah. Leaves a positive to a winner of a test auction. Now THAT is the funniest and dumbest thing I’ve heard all year.
Response:
Negative feedback is quite overboard, but I really hate it when people summarily just ignore email. It’s inconsiderate no matter what the issue is and that may be the operative issue here, not the phantom auction.
As I stated in my original post, I -did- respond to his E-mails. It’s a blatant lie. I received two "Question from eBay member" messages from him asking me what he bidding on /buying(apparently he has an affinity for bidding on auctions when he doesn’t even know what’s being auctioned). My copy and pasted response from E-mail was: "Hi, this only a test auction. An actual product is not for sale." Thank you. -brandnamelists "

Okay…. in unison, everyone: WHY DID YOU GIVE HIM POSITIVE FEEDBACK ??? (It makes you look like a complete idiot.)
Response:
Why did you not list your test auction in the test auctions category?
This auction was accidentally listed in the same category as all of my other products were. It was a mistake. Better yet, why haven’t they neg’d him back sending future sellers the same msg
I gave him a positive first. I was selling recipes and eBooks with Immediate Payment Required for PayPal and using Selling Manager Pro to automatically give positive feedback to all buyers. He was one of the people who got a positive. Unfortunately, now I can see the all-too-cold truth about why so many sellers do feedback hostage, and why I will need to start doing it myself. No more sucker-negs for me.

I didn’t look at your links, but Neg him if you have not yet. Then after a few days (to let any fury settle) ask him if you mutually want to remove the negs. He may if he has good feedback record. It is your only chance to get rid of the neg. John
