Question:
You just got "ripped" by the government computers. Someone will be knocking on your doors real soon. Dummy
government computer? bwahahahahahaaa! yea, sure the government really cares soooo much what is posted on the net or what people can legally sell on every firearm website and auction site. you must be a liberal democrat.glad your man gore loser is gone along with klinton and you are america’s last leftist liberal. pansies like you make real men laugh! bwahahahahahhaaaa! – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – l. I understand that it is a violation of Ebay policies to list live ammunition, but am I violating any Ebay policy if I tell a bidder, via private email, that I have the old shells and will give them away to the high bidder? All replies appreciated! Don’t know about Ebay but the Feds have a few rules about transporting live ammo. One must be 21 to receive pistol ammo and 18 for rifle ammo in those states where certain types of ammo are legal like
hollowpoints, etc. The seller should receive a photocopy of the buyer’s driver license. USPS won’t ship ammo but UPS will and all packages must be marked on the outside Small Arms Ammo, though I have shipped 20 cartridge boxes of banned Black Talon jacketed hollowpoint 9mm ammo by USPS Global Priority Mail to Hong Kong,Canada, etc.,with no problems. And the gov’t probably just tracked this whole set of emails, and wil be waiting for the truck to get called to your home.
– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I don’t see why Ebay would need to get involved in a private deal like that. It’s basically none of their business if you choose to add a "freebie" to the auction, as long as the shells aren’t listed. Careful with the mailing, though. Different shippers have different restrictions on mailing flammables, and old shells can be unstable. I have an antique shotgun shell box listed. Bidders are emailing me asking if the old shells are included in the deal. I was under the impression you had to have a special license to ship ammunition. I recently sold a vintage unopened can of black powder and was told I would have to dump the powder before I could ship it. I put this information in my auction and the buyer is okay with this. Other buyers emailed me about picking up the can because they said opening the can would devalue it. Think before I open the can I’ll give UPS a call. Don’t open that can as it can devalue its worth.Gunpowder can be shipped by UPS,as large mail order dealers like The Sportsman’s Guide and Cabelas ship out tons of it all the time to their customers.I’ve received numerous cans of Bullseye Smokeless Pistol and Rifle Powder as well as primers which are also explosive, from them when I reloaded years ago as a target shooter. Visit http://www.gunbroker.com and check out their help center and shipping regulations.Think UPS ground service is used for gunpowder and other flammable or explosive materials. You just have to fill out their forms and be sure to receive proof of the buyer’s age and identity. Response:
I agree don’t open it. However you need a federal permit to ship gunpowder or ammunition ( legally ), along with all the proper shipping forms and warning labels. You can have a local gun shop ship it under their name if you know anybody who works in the store. Good luck ! David — David R. Thank you, Arrakis. As I said, the buyer is in Georgia and is okay with me emptying the contents before shipping. However, if I can ship the can intact, I’d prefer to do so. Auction just ended Monday night so I have time to make calls Monday morning before opening the can to ship it.
