Time problem

Question:

Have you tried OnlineLister.com? I’m not familiar with AuctionWatch, but the website above appears pretty useful.

Hello R U retarded?. No-one on this newsgroup would be dumb enough to pay 3 or $4 listing fee, and then 10% of the final sale to these clowns. Or should i say YOUR Dumb Ass business.. Rod.

Response:

It seems to take me 5 to 10 minutes per item between photographing, writing copy, listing, and such.  I have a room full of *stuff* I haven’t even tackled because I’m afraid it will just take too long.  I’ve used AuctionWatch for listing.  Is there a better/quicker program/way? TIA! D

Do all your images first and use an HTML template that you can copy and paste into Mr. Lister.  Once you get rolling a bit, you can save a ton of time.  5 to 10 minutes isn’t too bad though. I’ve found that when I have tons of stuff, it is best to make a day of it and just get it over with. Ideally, selling identical items in Dutch auctions is the way to go. You can just re-list over and over again.

Response:

Rod, please feel free to act respectable in this newsgroup.  Respectable does and never will include throwing insults with bad grammar.  If you do not like the service, politely state your points.  You only come off as an ignorant rude guy with a vendetta the way you are posting.

Personally, I think the following: "Our pricing is based on our fees for listing your item with eBay, the premier auction site. After the initial listing service fee, we simply take a percentage of your sales, based again, on eBay’s fee schedule. Here are the current rates: Final Value Fees The final value fee for all items is 10%. Once the auction is finished and the final value is confirmed, a 10% fee will be deducted as a commission for Onlinelister.com. " deserves both insult AND bad grammer. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Have you tried OnlineLister.com? MF Crunchy, Any one willing to pay those fees<auctionwatch is a *DUMBASS*—- no "ands", "ifs" or "buts" about it. Poor grammar is a result of illiteracy or laziness. You’re not going to cure it on Usenet. Rudeness is a privilege granted by the 1st Amendment for US citizens only. (who said our Forefathers had no foresight?) All you whinny foreigners with crummy Postal Service shall continue to mind your manners around here, or I’ll tell Santa Claus! ELF

I switched away from Honesty.com for image hosting this week. Since I knew I would be working alone while listing, I tried to roughly time myself(–clock stopped when I went for more Beer or snacks) Counting uploading times for the images(1.1 images/auction), I went from listing 9 auctions per hour to thirteen completed my final hour. This was using two templates and manually adding one to two sentences of non-formatted text. I also took the time to go back and correct any typing errors caught during ‘proofing’. My page hits on Yahoo are running ahead of what they would have been on eBay. The eBay auctions are running slower than normal, despite the fact that I only listed a few items with highly attractive(for their target bidding audience) titles on eBay. ELF

You’re putting up auctions faster than I can!  Most of my time is spent photographing and adjusting images, then writing the ad copy (books are HARD to list!)   I know I could save a bit of time by using some sort of software, but it’s not going to take my photos or write my descriptions.  My average seems to be 10-12 minutes per auction listing – not counting photography. *I* need to be a bit more judicious in what I list, as I seem to have a wide gap between my high and low ending prices.  I also waste too much time here ;) Maybe drinking more coffee would help? You’re doing alot better than alot of us. It seems to take me forever to post my auctions because I keep reading newsgroups or bidding on stuff when I should be posting auctions.<g Kimberly – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – TIA! D
