C’mon, be fair. If Don gets to gangbang the cripples, I should at least get to do *one* table dance. Tips are optional, of course. Loren

- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I forgot to change my email address on ebay. I also forgot I had been bidding for something (I’m an intermittent bidder). So when I checked a week ago, I found I had won something four weeks earlier, and of course had not been receiving communications from the seller. Since then, I have emailed her several times, begging to be allowed to pay and apologising profusely, but had no response. So far, she hasn’t posted any feedback, but is there any more I can do at the moment? I would be grateful for any advice. Best wishes Daphne You can post your eBay ID so I can block you from "intermittently" screwing up any of my listings. TS Very constructive, thank you, Ted. So that’s the spirit of this Group. Daphne
So you’re going to use Ted’s comment as a gauge for "the spirit of this Group," hmm? Can we then assume that you represent "the spirit of eBay bidders" and are routinely forgetful, careless, disorganized, and unable to imagine more than one solution to a dilemma? Frankly, Daphne, in this instance Ted’s right. I doubt many sellers want to deal with an "intermittent bidder" who apparently doesn’t keep track of her eBay activity (or her email?) well enough to follow through on her commitments. Here are some free clues about how discussion groups work: You post a message, and people respond (or not) as they see fit. If you don’t want to hear a variety of responses, don’t post. And in a group used primarily by eBay sellers, don’t be surprised to hear comments from a seller’s perspective. — Ty Who is mostly just a slightly skewed Donna Reed

Are you sending e-mail directly or through ebay? Sometimes spam filters will catch e-mail–with AOL, this can happen with no notice being sent to either sender or would-be recipient that the message was filtered, so they don’t know you sent it and you don’t know they didn’t get it. You might try sending e-mail from a different address, or even getting contact info from the ebay transaction and trying a phone call. -Bertha — Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming– " WOW–What a Ride!! <lol Welcome to Usenet…
Please, don’t let that put you off. I got much the same reception the first time I tried to join this list, but I seem to be ok now! As for your problem, do call the seller! The phone number is available from ebay. If they still have the item, they will most likely complete your transaction if you use paypal. I know that _I_ would! If they don’t, just chalk it up to experience and try to keep a better filing system.
Stickies reminders to the computer desktop have their uses! I just keep a "Bidding" file in my mailbox and check it once per week to make sure I’m not forgetting anything. To be honest, if I don’t hear from a bidder within 3 weeks, I may finish the transaction, but I will also block them. It hurts business to tie up inventory like that. i did the *exact* same thing four years ago. it was the first bid i’d ever placed on something. i ended up getting negative feedback, and closing my account. then a few months later, i opened a new account. david — http://www.cafepress.com/derbarbier

what you read into their words is your business. ASCII has no inflection, as it is plain text. (plain text can’t have a hostile or aggressive tone; it’s just not possible.) david — http://www.cafepress.com/derbarbier
