Does anybody out there know of any British Banks that offer Dollar accounts, alternatively any US Banks that offer Sterling accounts? I am doing more and more business both sides of the Pond but keep getting stung for converting payments to my current bank, as well as the poor exchange rate and am getting a bit fed up and am looking for a viable alternative. I see that Citibank offer On-line banking with Different Currency Accounts (Dollar & Sterling) are they any good? and does it cost anything to move money within these accounts? Any advice gratefully received

David Banks offering Multi Currency Accounts
I do lots of international business and find that most buyers are able to get some type of instrument that is payable through a US bank. Perhaps this is available for UK accounts. Most are payable through CitiBank in New York. Occassionally I have a buyer for whom I have to provide a guiding hand but this is a valuable learning experience for both of us. Take care Bob AZ

dang good question David, as I too am doing a lot of ebay business with folks from England, and the currency transactions are a pain in the ass, to say the least. Tried to do one with Tim, in Auzzie land for some HP Choclate frog cards, but couldn’t find a local bank here that would issue a bank check in Auzzie funds.. uggh.. what a pain.. Here we are in a "global economy" and I can’t even get a payment sent to England or Australia in their funds; nor can I cash any such checks that come from them.. Very frustrating..
