ebay: secondhand CPU price vs new retail almost same

Question:

- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – From following closely 10 auctions there appears very little difference between the NEW RETAIL price for AMD cpu’s and secondhand prices they are getting on ebay. As far as I can see pointless buying secondhand cpu’s price saving not big enough to risk dodgy secondhand. There is a closely guarded secret about eBay marketing which has been unavailable to the general public until now. Many have paid hundreds, even thousands of dollars (or pounds- whatever) for this secret information, but because you’ve signed up for our daily, er.. newsletter by posting here, we’ll give it to you absolutely FREE.   You only pay a small shipping and handling charge. Here it is: If the item you’re looking for is available for less elsewhere, don’t buy it on eBay. BobR

There’s upcoming federal legislation that will eliminate this problem by taxing every non-eBay transaction that fails to meet the eBay closing price. — Many thanks, Don Lancaster Synergetics   3860 West First Street  Box 809  Thatcher, AZ 85552 Please visit my GURU’s LAIR web site at http://www.tinaja.com

eBay is not the Low Price source. eBay is the Random Price source. And some item categories seem to attract people who have little notion of prevailing market conditions. Many products are routinely bid up over current market value, and even above MSRP. If you wait long enough, and bottom-feed or snipe on enough auctions, you’ll eventually get what you want at a price you like. But if your need is more urgent, look elsewhere. Tip: don’t buy a used CPU if it’s photographed      on a carpet :-) — Regards,                           PO Box 248 Bob Niland                         Enterprise which, due to spam, is:            67441-0248 USA email4rjn AT yahoo DOT com http://www.access-one.com/rjn Unless otherwise specifically stated, expressing personal opinions and NOT speaking for any employer, client or Internet Service Provider.
