How to expose your Ebay Sales to 1,000's for free.

Question:

More on pyramid schemes later.

I smell an infomercial coming on.. I would be interested to receive a copy of that .COM deleter file, just to scan and maybe run on an old PC. Why don’t the virus companies know about this one?

Because it’s technically not a virus. The program the OP is refering to is most likely a small Visual Basic program. Simply renaming files is something normal code does all day long. Ergo, virus programs don’t have a problem with it. This book is only  a few days old, so have no idea what the post was on Nov 10th.

Bullshit. Newsgroups: alt.business.multilevel http://links.waytogocommunications.net BRAND NEW. They have a great marketing tool for online marketeers and their plan pays $611,000+ for only six referrals down to level 7. A Pyramid scheme has no product. An MLM scheme does. An MLM scheme is legal if 70% of the business is outside the affiliate program. Try telling that to Amway or whatever their name is these days.

Bullshit again. A pyramid scheme can be "Send $5 to each person on the list, add your name to the #5 position, remove the previous #5 person, send out this message to everyone you know…. If I would have thought that posting the e-book link would have caused these problems then I would have spent my evening (now early morning) doing something more self productive.

I won’t touch that comment. To e-mail me, remove theobvious from my e-mail address.

Response:

I have in no way ever made any claims of "secrets". Will someone believe that this was purely a post to a download link (not a website as you know), that gave a free book on advice for marketing any product. This kind of e-book sadly sells for $20, $30 or even more AND they want your email address as well! I posted here in this newsgroup because not everyone knows everything about internet marketing. Some may have just started their first Ebay auction and looking for another way to get their product page shown.

Cut the crap.  If your motivation is to help out the little guy and the newbie, then post the information to a web page where they can access it without loading an exe file, and provide the URL. I agree that it’s sad that people feel justified in charging $20-30 or more for such drivel. The bottom line is that making this marvelous program work somehow involves a payment for $9.95 for entry into some sort of pyramid scheme, and another poster has pointed out, has little or nothing to do with this newsgroup. I would be interested to receive a copy of that .COM deleter file, just to scan and maybe run on an old PC. Why don’t the virus companies know about this one?

I am not going to be a party to sending anyone a malicious program.  The reason AV companies don’t know about it is because it’s not a virus.  If someone writes a program that causes your CD Rom to open and close every second until the gears in it wear out, it’s not a virus, but it’s still destructive. My first post was yesterday. Except for a thread on e-checks via paypal. I accidentally emailed that directly to the poster. This book is only  a few days old, so have no idea what the post was on Nov 10th.

I quoted it.  It had your email address.  It’s archived here: http://groups.google.com/groups?q=author:paul78247%40yahoo.com&hl=en&… If I used my RR account address to post here I would have even more spam every day in my mail box. I am well aware that spammers use software scanners to remove email addresses from newsgroups. This one I was caught out on a few years ago and had to change my main email address with RR.

I post far more than you ever will, to two groups, using my real address, and receive almost no spam.  I suspect your spam comes from being involved in these MMF schemes. If I would have thought that posting the e-book link would have caused these problems then I would have spent my evening (now early morning) doing something more self productive.

FWIW, I don’t see any of the regulars here cheering your efforts. — The hot sun spilled through the open blinds like tapioca pudding through a two year old.

Response:

Paul wrote What is wrong with the post? Why call this Spam?

It is indistinguishable from spam, because it promotes a product, it makes no reference to the topic of this newsgroup, and is posted by someone who has never posted here before. Also, the product promoted and the claims made are typical of spam. I subscribe to this newsgroup and wrote this book for the "newbie"

In that order? are you  scared that someone might get an advantage?

What type of advantage might someone gain? The link does NOT connect to any site that shows anything. This is a link to market Ebay or any website.

I’m confused. How do you do that without showing anything. Neither is this link posted to ANYTHING that does not affect marketing.

Neither does spam. Paul. Who gives his name.

Then you of all people should know that the same garbage, when posted to a newsgroups, is STILL SPAM. There are other issues here and Fred has a later posting that I will respond to.

You would probably do more for your cause if you’d *quit* responding. Everything you say only digs you deeper into a hole. — The hot sun spilled through the open blinds like tapioca pudding through a two year old.

Response:

Fred, Why are you afraid to post the contents of the ebook here, in plain text? Is it because those of us who are not newbies might find fault with whatever scheme it is you are promoting?  After all, those selling the pyramid schemes are addressing them to the newbies, as well, because they know the pros know better.

The book is over 300k and to post to a newsgroup in a text format would be crazy.  Some people using newsgroups do not have the ability to just download the headers and a 300k message is something that I would not bestow on anyone if they were not interested in the header alone. More on pyramid schemes later. Are you scared of any kind of competition? As I’ve stated before, no.  Are you afraid to post your free "secrets" here for everyone to see?  If they’re on topic, they’ll certainly be welcome, and maybe the oldsters among us can benefit, too.

As for your earlier post about the terms of RR then you should read the parts about offensive and hate mail! First off, those weren’t my comments, secondly, they only apply to rr accounts.  And nothing anyone has said in this thread so far would come under the heading of offensive or hate mail, by any ISPs standards.

Please accept my appologies for this. I realize that they were not your comments, but rather those from an earlier post. Sorry. I just happen to have a copy of an .exe program that you’re welcome to run past any anti-virus program you care to.  Then when you execute it, it will remove all the .com extensions on your machine, making it functionless on reboot. You’re suggesting that I risk my machine to DL an executable whose contents you choose to hide.  That’s just not real good computer practice, even if there is nothing wrong with the file itself.

A program I am not aware of. I could have posted the pattern file number and the part about PC-Cillin 2003, but that would just deter people from virus checking the file. I would not do that. Just because it passed my virues scanners I would not want anyone anywhere to download a file without checking it first themselves. I would be interested to receive a copy of that .COM deleter file, just to scan and maybe run on an old PC. Why don’t the virus companies know about this one? Your contribution to this group has occurred yesterday.  Period.   You also posted this on Nov 10, to alt.business.multilevel:

My first post was yesterday. Except for a thread on e-checks via paypal. I accidently emailed that directly to the poster. This book is only  a few days old, so have no idea what the post was on Nov 10th. This is a marketing newsgroup for Ebay marketers, of which I am a subscriber and also a seller and buyer. Which has nothing to do with anything.  You’re also posting under a semi-anonymous ID which has no connection with your ebaY ID.  You’re a roadrunner account, yet you choose to post with a yahoo email.  Why?

If I used my RR account address to post here I would have even more spam every day in my mail box. I am well aware that spammers use software scanners to remove email addresses from newsgroups. This one I was caught out on a few years ago and had to change my main email address with RR. The Yahoo ID is the one I use for all newsgroup postings. This is a 6MB mailbox that gets full of spam every day. I never sign up for anything with the Yahoo address and can only put this down to the newsgroup scanners. Gee, that sounds suspiciously like another pyramid scheme to me, another waste of time for marketers who think there’s some easy way to get a lot of hits to their listings. I don’t suppose there’s any connection between that and your ebook, is there?  You know, the one with the referral ID in the URL?

A Pyramid scheme has no product. An MLM scheme does. An MLM scheme is legal if 70% of the business is outside the affiliate program. Try telling that to Amway or whatever their name is these days. In no way does the book say it is easy to get hits. It simply points out where you can go to earn them. These places also sell them, but the advice in the book was to earn them and test their effectiveness. Just to join all the programs in the book would take the best part of the day… Never mind using them. The e-book never says that any part of marketing is easy and even reading through it would put 99% of people off the idea. Most want an easy living. Internet marketing, though rewarding can be one of the most frustrating and difficult areas to make a your income. If I would have thought that posting the e-book link would have caused these problems then I would have spent my evening (now early morning) doing something more self productive. David, – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – If it looks like spam, smells like spam, and grunts like spam, it’s um, er, a service to the marketing newbie! Call it what you will, but I did download it and I read "The Big Boost," which I would quote from here if it were not for the fact that you have somehow disabled my ability to cut and paste it. Suffice to say that recipients of the "free" book are invited to send $9.95 to your company, and are taught how to send this e-book to people and "offer products and services" while doing so — to quote from you, "This is again NOT spam as they have requested this from your website."

The big boost is only for those who wish to reproduce the book and gather higher exposure for their marketing efforts. The $9.95 for those "invited" to send is a minimum wage workload for those who wish to have their refferal links placed within the book and replace ours. There are over 60 useful links to marketing sites for internet marketers (How long do you think it would take to change all those links in the book?). I do not teach anything for $9.95. It is normal practice to gain anything free on the internet to give an email address and have the product replied by auto responder. Notice I have asked for no such thing here. Did you read the section on FFA pages and the warning against spamming with more than the auto responded message? I receive a fistfull of spam every day and detest it. It slows down my workday and I lose some important emails that I accidently delete. There are other issues here and Fred has a later posting that I will respond to. Rgds Paul.

Not at all.  You’re welcome to post your "free" book here in its entirety, if it applies to ebaY strategies or the like.  If it’s a way to get people to sign up for some stupid scam, you can also expect that it will be quickly shown up for what it is.
