Question:
If your auction mentions additional items/services, in any manner, that’s fee circumvention. Obviously, any customer will know that you might have more items/services available, and might ask. But solicitation of off-eBay sales is discouraged and could lead to account suspension, particularly if reported by an unhappy purchaser of the service(s). Kris

There are over 9000 items that turn up in an exact-phrase search for "made to order". Some of these are doubtless items made to the original owner’s order, but the vast majority seem to be items that will be at least partly customized to the winner’s specification. … where the buyer sends instructions after the sale has finished.
I have zero expertise or experience on this, but my guess is that as long at the auction’s Final Value is the amount the buyer ultimately pays, eBay won’t care. What if they order multiple items which are not paid for through Ebay?
If winning the auction represents multiple items, the FV had better reflect that. On the other hand, if the auction is for one item, and the buyer ends up buying more in an off-eBay sale, that’s between you and the buyer. Just don’t make off-eBay sales obvious in the listing. — Regards, PO Box 248 Bob Niland Enterprise which, due to spam, is: 67441-0248 email4rjn AT yahoo DOT com http://www.access-one.com/rjn Unless otherwise specifically stated, expressing personal opinions and NOT speaking for any employer, client or Internet Service Provider.

What kind of service is this? "I’ll tailor a suit for you" "Wedding pictures taken" "I’ll paint your house" "Too busy to scrapbook? I’ll do it for you!" "I’ll make you a custom quilt" eBay’s "choice" policy spells out such services and seems to differentiate between a creation, and a customized product: http://pages.ebay.com/help/index_popup.html?policies=listing-choice.html Listings may offer custom-made items or services that are created or customized to the buyer’s specification such as made to order clothing. Other permitted examples include re-sizing of rings or personalized mailing labels. All offered options must be provided at no additional charge to the buyer. Choice of title in software, books, music or movies is not allowed. Choice of size in pre-made items is not allowed. For instance, an auction for "This exact dress made in your size" is permitted, but "Your choice of these styles" is not. In any event, eBay’s "pre-sale" restrictions would require that the item be delivered within 30 days. What if they order multiple items which are not paid for through Ebay?
