Question:
"K9660R" wrote in a message … My question. Doesn’t ebay refund certain fees in this case? I’ve searched the site map high and low and can’t find the proper link. I’m sure ebay doesn’t want to make this particular link an easy find
Ken, Go to ebay’s help and type FVF into the search. You will quickly find out exactly where to go and what to do. Basically, you have to wait at least seven days after the auction has ended, and you can file NPB (Non Paying Bidder). This causes ebay to send a polite reminder to the buyer to pay up. You must then wait at least ten more days, then you can file FVF (Final Value Fee). This will do two things. First, you get your FVF back. (The listing fee will not be refunded, however.) It also puts a black mark on the buyer’s ebay account. As soon as there are three of them from three different sellers, the buyer is NARUd. (Not A Registered User, ie the account is permanantly closed.) Chris

Hello fellow ebayers. I recently had an auction end where the bidder had won with a $49.00 bid. He has refused to answer emails, although I see that he has read them since we both have AOL addresses. After a little investigating, I have found many other auctions this punk has bid on and not paid for (never responded to emails either). So, my conclusion is that we have another deadbeat bidder on our hands. My question. Doesn’t ebay refund certain fees in this case? If you’re as upset about it as you sounded in your original post, you should also contact the other sellers this guy has stiffed and get them to file for their FVF refund as well. Three such strikes, and he’ll be out. If the other sellers aren’t aware of the process, or of the consequences to the buyer, they may never file, and he’ll continue doing this to other sellers. BobR
