Question:
Its a vote. Should (or would) you show the PowerSeller icon? Just a simple Yes or No.
I’ll be different and say that it makes very little difference. If you have superior customer service and your FB reflects that, then the PS icon is probably marginally helpful. As has been pointed out, I think the benefit varies according to what you sell.

I just ignored all invitations to join the PowerSeller program, and eventually they stopped sending them.

wouldn’t know, i only look at the bottom line it does make a positive difference in my sales. <after inserting Power Seller iconSales tripled after we got our PS. Flies in the face of the AMOE "Anti-PS" majority, I know, but I wouldn’t want any of the NOs buying our stuff anyways.
<laughing It’s relatively easy to triple your eBay sales in 1 week — TRIPLE YOUR LISTINGS! Your claim of tripling sales *because of* adding the PS logo/icon is one of the silliest things ever posted to this group.

Could also be a UK thing. As our country is relatively small I get quite a few people collecting PCs and things in person. I’ll make a point of asking them what their veiws of powersellers are, I know twice people have mentioned they bought from me because of my decent feedback & that I allowed colections.
It’s probably universal. I think that you hit on the key factor, which is offering great customer service and having the reputation to back it up. Yes, same here, I do get a lot of people that want to pick up the merchandise and I encourage them to do so since it saves me to having pay the labor to have it packed. Offering this and reasonable S&H is key. I have had many compliment me on my fair shipping, whether it is freight or UPS. I would offer to remove it for a month in reciprocation but I won’t, lol
If it’s working I would leave well enough alone. I have nothing to lose by displaying it for a month. Hopefully it will be viewed as a positive feature. Rita

Great, I have mine turned on now. It does feel weird being anti-anti-establishment. Rita

I figure having it up to ward off AMOE malcontents makes it worth it’s weight in gold. Maybe it was the placebo effect? No placebo Rita, from my experience it definitely has a positive effect. That’s great news. I’m glad that it is working for you. I believe that it may have a lot to do with the type of merchandise one sells. Then there is the other group that may be getting the "shock and awe" effect is the new buyers. It’s when a new buyer becomes experienced and has numerous transactions under their belt is when they might form a negative image of PowerSellers. As a buyer, I have had a few problems with customer service issues, but when I did it was usually a PowerSeller involved not shipping what was described or not shipping at all. It was the low, but good, feedback small time sellers that seemed to have went out of their way to provide the best possible service and merchandise who really stuck in my memory. Niel, since you sell similar merchandise as me, I will turn my logo on this evening and update my templates for the next batch of uploads to see if it makes a difference. I will run it for a month and see what happens. I’ll let you know the results either way. Thanks.

Same here – noticable increase in final auction prices since I became one. On this basis buyers in here who say they don’t buy from powersellers have a motive to get us not to display the logo as it seems to drive prices up. ..at least it does on Ebay.co.uk anyway. — Niel Humphreys
