Question:
You’ve been using usenet for "absolutely ages"? And you don’t understand delays in propagation of newsgroup messages? Or the fact that newsreaders generally download messages in batches, not continuously? Curiouser and curiouser…
yes, much like "I’m not falling for this one" — Darren http://www.Dazzas.co.uk http://www.Broadband-For.Wales.Eu.Org http://www.Pc-Doctors.org.uk

Re: Auction ended last wednesday… (*-.Dazza.-*) yeah i understand thanks, it’s just im in a huge rush b’coz i cant send their items after wednesday, as I’m going into hospital to give a donor & try and save a life. Darren
Hope you’re not donating a piece of your mind… you’ve got little to spare. Perhaps you might think twice next time about running an auction just before major surgery. Of course, I’d likely not even give an auction with payment requirements like yours a second glance…. Del

Really, Darren. Tell me all about it. What are you donating? What kind of qualifying tests did you have to undergo? Can you tell me what’s the last medical test that will be performed on both you and the recipient, immediately before surgery? We can compare notes! First clue: a donor is NOT a hero. Kris Been there, done that

A donor kebab ?
Response:
It is not nice to start a bunch of auctions knowing that you are going to be unavailable. honestly, this donor was totally unexpected. i can’t give you all my personal details, but believe me — Darren
Thanks, I learn something new almost everyday. I didn’t know one could be so full of SHIT that medical science had a use for your excess! Congratulations to the UK Medical Community. Every bit of your shit they accept is that much less you can heap upon this newsgroup. Ask Kris who has some first hand knowledge about donating. How many days advance warning of hospitalization, is a donor going to have? <there’s that grammar that got me all those As in college Oh well; once an illiterate, always an illiterate.

Let me get this right. Are you going to be a donor? And it’s totally unexpected? Or…..are you going to be a recipient? If so….why was that unexpected, and are you aware that you should have been at the hospital hours ago? Kris

Deborah, all of this was laid out in the responses to his last post. That’s why I still think he’s trolling, he asked a question, he got a ton of replies, he never responded to any of them
I’ve been using usenet for absolutely ages! I know when not to reply because I hate arguing. the moment people start ranting about what i’ve said i /usually/ just ignore the entire message. now what really makes me laugh is your shear ironi "I fell for your last trolling post, I’m not falling for another one. Darren, you’ve had this problem from the start of posting to this group–rather than do basic research at the eBay site before you enter into a transaction, you ask questions here after you’re already in over your head. Go read the eBay files, and you’ll be a lot calmer about the transaction because you’ll know not just what eBay expects that you already know but also what your *buyer* is expecting you know. Deborah, all of this was laid out in the responses to his last post. That’s why I still think he’s trolling, he asked a question, he got a ton of replies, he never responded to any of them, then he came back with this post, which would have been answered by reading the responses to the last post. I have no problem with people being a little dense, it happens to everyone from time to time. I just think that if he actually read any of the responses to his prior post, it’s a bit difficult to believe that this was a legitimate question. Richard Ward

You might require payment within 5 days, but you should not include Sat/Sun or any holidays in that. Plus, people do go on trips and such (even while auctions are going on – I get called away on business at a minute’s notice sometimes). Be patient.

First of all you should allow the buyer about 7 days, then you send them a very polite e-mail, give it another 7 days, while you wait you can read the rules and regulations reguarding auctions on Ebay.
In the description I did require payment within 5 days, and I have good reason. If they did not agree with these terms, they shouldn’t of bidded I am only glad I don’t deal with you because I think you are a total prat.
A compliment? why thanks

If the auction ended last Wednesday afternoon, the bidder has at least eBay’s minimum of three business days to respond to your initial e-mail, which would be 3 p.m. today, Monday. It’s too soon to harp about *responding*, let alone receiving payment.
Cheers Dave I know what to do now!

It’s too soon to harp about *responding*, let alone receiving payment. People go out of town for three business days or longer. People have activities on weekends. People have lives other than eBay. People don’t check their e-mail every day, nor do they need to, given that eBay recommends contact be made within three business days. That’s recommends, not requires. Negative feedback should be given only when all other avenues have been exhausted up, to, and including placing a phone call if necessary, and then only after a decent time has elapsed. Negative feedback should not be left simply because you haven’t received payment less than three business days following the close of the auction. The mail must be really fast in the UK if you insist on being paid that quickly. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – …My auction ended last Wednesday afternoon (3:00pm) The buyer had Thursday… Friday… Saturday Sunday….
