Have any of you ever sold to someone 'famous'?

Question:

From a previous thread: http://snurl.com/16ck Nell

GOOD idea! Newsgroups: alt.marketing.online.ebay You may have, and not known it.  If I hadn’t figured out who Wendy Mull and D. Burke were, I wouldn’t know I’d sold to someone famous, either. D. Burke was very nice – and since I know her eBay ID, I occasionally look to see what she bids on.  (No, I won’t tell!)   I didn’t realize it was Delta, until I put 2+2 together on the "D. Burke" and address…and then asked her. Wendy Mull is a charmer; Martin is a painter, and she was looking for old-style (1940s-1950s) illustrations of children – like in the old textbooks.  She ended up buying multiple auctions from my daughter and me. There’s a "decorating" show on A&E that has a segment with Martin & Wendy — I was pleased to find out that they decorate the same way we do, and that they didn’t put the fancy kitchen floor under the refrigerator, either. She’s still active on eBay, too. You can go through my "feedback left" but you won’t spot these people.

Response:

I’ve sold stuff to people at prices that I’d never pay for something, so maybe they were famous and had money to burn, but I don’t know the names of most famous people so I wouldn’t even know it if I did(OK, I wouldn’t spend $35 on a record album or $11 for a Zappa ticket stub or $50 for a Grand funk song book).  They may have been in famous bands and did behind the scenes work.  Oh, yeah, there was one guy from Netherlands who may have played with Grand funk later on but not sure if he was famous. ares

You don’t have to name names; I’ll just contact every single person on your feedback list saying how much I love them… ha ha ha ;-) Ziggy I sold an obscure movie on video to a former star of the TV series Dallas that he did not have in his collection.  He planned to show it at a convention where he was the featured guest. I’ve also sold to a female "b" movie star, whose name would be recognized by anyone who watches movies regularly late night on Skina^H^H^H^H^HCinemax.  She’s been in quite a few of them. Heh, O K you twisted my leg (*sigh*) Here’s a clue: The gentleman in question Well,er… never gets stuck in a ‘Jam’. Wow, I should write crosswords! It was a *pretty* rare musical instrument. They wanted to get it in person to make sure it was as stated, and safe, and it apparently ended a 10 year+ search (as far as I am concerned though, they weren’t looking hard enough!). Their eBay details were not the person I was expecting to turn up, must have been a friend / agent or whoever. Very friendly, but they didn’t stay for tea or nowt. ;-)

I sold a medal featuring an old Hollywood movie star to  a woman with the same last name as a noted film critic.  Wondered if she was related, found out she was when the check arrived with both his and her name on it …  (I cashed it … not famous enough to save as a souvenir, or to offer on eBaY as a memento …) — P.
