I did quickly reply to today’s receipt of his check and that I would send out the autographed CD the second the check cleared –
When possible, with such a check, go to a branch of the bank the check is drawn on and *cash* it rather than depositing it at your bank. This eliminates the possible problems of the check bouncing due to insufficient funds or the buyer stopping payment. I person can claim a check is stolen or forged long after the check has cleared, months after. At that point, the money will be pulled out of your account, and your only recourse will be to sue him. I don’t know how likely it would be to happen, but it can happen. The greater risk is someone is using a stolen or washed check to steal merchandise, where the account holder isn’t part of the scam at all, but just a co-victim.

If you expect problems from the check writer, you could always go to HIS bank (branch in your neighborhood) and CASH the check, rather than DEPOSITING it in your bank acct. In this case I would pull his contact information and confirm that he is legit by giving him call. This way you can get a better feeling of the circumstances and what type of person you are dealing with, plus, he will have confirmation that you are attempting to contact him and offer him the best customer service available.

Well John, I am trying but a few trolls have found it their calling to try and combat me with their "words of wisdom". What they fail to realize is…this is not their fight….why doesnt Kris come out and address the allegations herself. But more importantly….why doesnt Kris do some inner-reflection and just consider changing her ways. Alot of people are angry with Kris. Not because she got them NARU’d, but because she seems to get some sick pleasure out of it. We have all had neighbors like Kris Baker and no doubt have shared in the frustration and anger and rage they cause each one of us to feel. Nobody likes a busybody, esp. one who seems to derive pleasure (sick pleasure at that) in passing judgement of others and hurting them financially. Kris is not just guilty here of doing this but virtually all over the usenet feeds…courttv you name it….this person gets around and just loves the hell outta making other people hurt…..how many innocent people has she hurt….my whole point in this is this women has a less than sparkling past and here she is judging and going after others. Needless to say I am done for now….I really do have more important things to do than this cr^p. She constantly is posting judgements of others….so is it not fair to post the truth about her, him or it….whatever she is (it appears that nobody really does know). Its only fair that people know shes an active participant in forums that cater to wannabe cops and sexual fetish (talk about extremes). He sent me an email letting me know a check was forthcoming – I would have preferred Paypal for something of this value – I explained a check would be fine but it would have to clear 1st, but could he do the eCheck deal on Papal — I quote from his email below: "..I took advantage of the ceck thing due to a problem I have had with Paypal. Last year my account used up it’s limit, I went to charge more funding against my credit card but they refused. The Paypal bureaucracy wanted access to my personal bank account. As Hall & Oates said "I don’t go for that",no way juanita to any organization getting at my money with out some security. The thrust of his negative feedbacks is strange in nature; calling sellers homes – outrageous claims – and now this email mentions his anger.I did quickly reply to today’s receipt of his check and that I would send out the autographed CD the second the check cleared – no response as of 8 PM eastern time. I also mentioned the item would be insured and signature confirmation required. Think he is having buyers remorse and looking for a way out? Maybe a few beers and a bad weekend? Anything I should do to head him off at the pass? Thankx for the input!!
