Be afraid. Be very afraid. <g

Response:

This was a dutch auction.  There were 4 available. You were the only one who bid.  You bid $2.51 and won it for $2.00 which was the opening bid. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1131191722 Phil (The other) – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Well no, not really. There was only one item available for that auction but I noticed that he has several of the same exact item up for auction at any given time. He sells prints of his art. He has a FB of about 27 so I don’t think he can dutch auction yet. Ring

Response:

Wow, well thank you. Ho w was he able to do that with feedback lower than 50. I thought I read somewhere that you had to have FB 50 at least to dutch. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Newsgroups: alt.marketing.online.ebay This was a dutch auction.  There were 4 available. Okay, I’m totally not trying to be mean here, but… didn’t you notice the Quantity was ‘4′ and that you were not listed as the highest bidder but there was a link to see the highest *bidders*, or the bid box that asked you the quantity you were bidding on (a standard auction only asks for your bid but a Dutch Auction asks for your bid and quantity bidding on), or the text under the bid box that said, "This is a Dutch Auction (Multiple Item Auction)…"??  No offense, but I think you need to pay a little more attention to the auctions before bidding on them.  And, that seller has 189 FB so I’m not sure where you got 27 from. Marse

Response:

Well Marse I don’t understand your reaction. To me you come off as angry and miffed. The reason I asked about it was purely curiosity. I had no problem with the seller other than the fact that he is somewhat my competition as I list in that group too. And that is sarcastic as I have no problem at all. As far as not paying attention. I agree as I was recalling it rather than looking back at it first. He did email me a lot to ask if I wanted to be on his art malining listthough it didn’t bother me it was a bit uncomfortable as I don’t want ot be on his list. TO be honest I was a little embarassed by my lack of attention but thanks to you Marse I have it shoved under my nose. I treated him with absolute respect and left him one of those 127 pos feedback before my sister even mentioned getting the print which I am still waiting for. Oh btw I did get my answer even though I was so unclear about what I was talking about and I do apologize if it prompted anyone to go look and then groan at my misinformation. <snip Again, I was not trying to be mean… I’m sorry it came off that way.  I was not angry or miffed, and I didn’t think you were angry with the seller.  Sometimes people should have things pointed out to them especially when they ask a question in a public forum looking for answers without knowing/recalling all the details so they don’t just go on to make the same mistake again or the same assumptions, etc.  I’m sure you are an intelligent person and meant no disrespect.  Ebay gives you many opportunities to see that what you were bidding on was in fact a Dutch auction and everyone can see your high bid including the seller.  I was just suggesting you read up a little more on Dutch Auctions so you know the differences… the first time I bid on one I was intimidated and didn’t understand the rules so I went and read about them.  I was not trying to shove anything in your face but now that it’s been pointed out to you I’ll bet you pay more attention the next time and you have the answer to your question.  In other words, I was trying to help.  And, BTW the seller has 189 feedback not 27 or 127 <g Marse

Response:

Okay Okay you’re right it was 157. ;  ) Peace, Ring Ps. I don’t care how much FB George has as long as it is over 50. I did find him a bit annoying, maybe that’s why I got so tremendously lazy about going back to his site and getting the facts straight. Actually after I reacted to your post I started laughing because I can understand your being flabergasted at my complete air headedness. Even I was at that one. Believe me I have my moments and I am sure this will not be the last unfortunately. I like the part about "I’m sure you are an intelligent person…" LOL! thank you for the leap of faith and yes for a while I will pay closer attention. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Organization: Prodigy Internet http://www.prodigy.com Newsgroups: alt.marketing.online.ebay Well Marse I don’t understand your reaction. How did the seller know what my max bid was before the auction ended? He wrote and said "I see that you bid X amount but you only owe me XY amount." I thought that was sort of strange since I was the only bidder on the item. But he knew my max amount. He acted like he was doing me a favor or something. I thought the max wasn’t disclosed until auction end. Ruth
