Question:
We’ve just replaced Dave Christian’s post to alt.marketing.online.ebay with new Folger’s Crystals. Let’s see if anyone notices: He’s an idiot. Take his money, leave him positive feedback, and move on. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
POSITIVE feedback? I wouldn’t leave that ass anything. Kate: "Why didn’t you just say no?" Drew: "They would have found some other way to screw me. They always find a way to screw me. I’m the System’s bitch." —The Drew Carey Show

alt.marketing.online.ebay with new Folger’s Crystals. Let’s see if anyone notices: I also would not leave feedback for him–I think he’s just itching for a chance to neg you, but will only do it if you neg him…after all, you both have the opportunity to give each other 2 (possibly 3, if he wins the other auction he bid on)negatives, and I think an itchy trigger finger (being quick to neg) will make you end up with negs, too.
Personally, I’d cancel his other auction. I don’t care if he is a return customer. Attitudes like his I can do without. By the way, I used to always preach negging NPBs, but I’ve changed my mind. I’ve had so few NPBs over the last couple of years, I negged them all….now I’ve had 3 NPBs in the last month (with more possible) and

He’s an idiot. Take his money, leave him positive feedback, and move on. Good riddance to bad rubbish. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Thank you all so very much for your back up and suggestions/comments. I really needed the moral support. I just hate when this stuff happens and I always want to be clear on how to handle it. I have emailed him back and he did respond. Oh my. I hate being sponken to in this manner. I thought that my email was not too harsh yet to the point. I guess he disagreed. Here they are: Hello. With all due respect I have a major problem with your email. We have been selling our snuff samples 4pcs for months on ebay. The auctions have all ended with final prices ranging from $13.00 to $45.00. Would you assert that I owe a refund to any person who won snuff any higher than $13.00. Or maybe I should email all my snuff winners whose auctions ended for less than $45.00 and tell them I feel ripped off because they got thier snuff too cheap. I can only dream about the money I would have made if all the snuff sold for $45.00 and auction. You say you understand how an auction works and than you go on to suggest that I renegotiate a price with you after auction. That is simply not going to happen. Being reasonable has absolutely nothing to do with this issue. Some "idiot" did not run up your auction. You snipped another bidder at the very last moments of auction and at that moment were willing to pay your final bid price of $31.00. Now that you have seen the same item sold for less on an auction that you overlooked or failed to bid on, you are complaining. There were several bidders who bid after your initial $15.00 bid, if that is all you were willing to pay you should have stopped there. That is how an auction works. The bidder that you snipped was willing to pay $30.82. Are you suggesting I should take less because you missed the opportunity to snipe the lower auction. That is not how an auction works and you have enough Ebay history to know that. As to why do I not dutch auction. Besides that being my concern, it is how I (the owner of my business) prefer to sell my snuff samples. You can honor your bid and we can offer you additional snuff samples at 5 for $25.00, as many as you want. But we will not reduce your bid after this auction. If you refuse to pay I will attempt to sell to the bidder you snipped. In that case you will be sent an email requesting that you never again bid on our auctions, a copy of which is sent to Ebay… I would hope to keep you as a customer. It is not my intent to be harsh with you. However you are looking at the situation from only your personal point of view and this, Sir, is business. I (and 1355 other Ebayers that have left me positive feedback) think that I am a very fair seller. I am sorry if you do not agree. You let me know how you would like to proceed with this transaction. Amy Appel *Did I sound obnoxious?? So hard to tell. I guess it is in the ear of the behearer, hee. His response: Hello Amy, Looks like we hit a raw nerve here. Thanks for the terrific lecture. I printed a 100 copies to spank myself with. I’ll get my check in the mail right away. I don’t want to be responsible for the heart attic you are having. I will also make it a point to never bid on your auctions again which should thrill you to death because I’m a piece of crap in your eyes anyway. I will also make it my goal to tell everyone I know about your terrific lecture. It won’t matter because they are crap too. You won’t miss a single one us because you have the whole world out there. Maybe next time a simple "no I can’t do that," will do. I doubt it though. You sound like you enjoy lecturing. Mean while, Don’t forget to leave my negative feedback & by the way, I don’t give a hoot what you go & cry to Ebay about. That threat is a hollow one so save it for someone of your other customers. You have a terrific year now. I hope your business is the best it has ever been. God bless you & Grandmomsattic. Best wishes, Fred I really want to kick some flaming butt. I think I will go give it to the punching bag (got one not long after starting on ebay) this guy is not worth the stress. Sad thing is he won an auction from me on the 7th of Jan and has not paid yet. I am sure he is gonna double neg dump me. He currently has a bid on another of my auction he placed on the 9th. Reserve has not been met, maybe I should cancel it just in case but I don’t want to further aggrevate this man. He could be on the edge of some bad behavior here. The abuse, this is almost as bad as being a postal employee. Thanks again, all of you!! . Amy
Response:
I would first point out to your bidder that he (your bidder) is an experienced bidder. It’s obvious that he understands how the bidding works and that he should only bid what he is comfortable paying. Tell him that a dutch auction is a good idea and that you will consider doing it in the future. Then, congratulate him again on his winning bid and tell him that you are getting his package ready for shipment. And that is the end of that. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I get this email from a bidder. He is mad because he missed my other auction and the opportunity to snipe it for a lower price. He snipped the auction he won in the last seconds for $31.00 and at that moment was willing to pay that amount. After auction he see s that I had an identical auction that sold for less (almost half his final bid) that same day and he is whining and thinks I should go dutch so it will be "fair". BTW the auction he was in was not "run up" by some "idiot". Actually there were four bids by four separate ebayers between his two bids. His earlier bid was $15.00. Here are the two auctions involved and the 1st email I received from the bidder. This guy is becoming abusive and I feel I need input here. Thank you for any comments. I would like to discuss a problem I have. On the day of the auction, & yes I do realize what an auction is & how they work, you also had a second set of cans like these that sold for almost half what I’m paying just because some idiot ran up the auction I was in. I have also noticed you seem to have a lot of these can sets. Why don’t you have a Dutch auction & sell all that way? It’s a lot more fair. Anyway, I just don’t think it’s right that I’m paying twice as much for the same darn set of cans. Could I get some relief here? Thanks for your consideration. You have al)
