We’ve just replaced Richard Ward’s post to alt.marketing.online.ebay with new Folger’s Crystals. Let’s see if anyone notices: What ever happened with the discussion to change the name of this newsgroup to something without the word ‘marketing’ in it? Actually, that process is still ongoing. (no one said it would be quick)
Well, making an alt.* group is quick. Just send the control message. Any monkey can do it. Creating a Big 8 group is lengthy. It involves proposals, discussions, re-proposals, more discussion ad nauseum, and a vote. To all on alt.marketing.online.ebay : My apologies for accidentally posting my auction here. I thought this was alt.marketPLACE.online.ebay. If I’ve offended anyone, again I extend my deepest apologies. Rest assured, I have been properly repremanded by eBay thanks to the actions of a concerned poster to this group. You can all rest easy now. :)

If I remember correctly, a lot of people agreed that it’d be a whole lot of work, and there’d still be people by the dozens posting their auctions because of the word "ebay" in the group name. (Stupid question… how many people actually read those groups that are made for auction postings?) -Tim K.

I really got blasted for posting an auction here. I apologise for getting everyone’s blood pressure up. Indeed I should have lurked before posting. Looks like a very useful discussion going on for ebay sellers and buyers like me. I would like to stick around to learn more and offer any help from my experiences. Until then.
