Sure, it’s here http://tinyurl.com/cs76 Bt I’m equally surprised  a.m.o.e was missed off the RFD distribution list. Jc.

That was an oversight for the first RFD. When this gets a second one it will be included. As people there hadn’t been party to the discussions there wasn’t much point in including them in the straw poll which just helps to determine how the 2nd RFD will end up. — Alex "We are now up against live, hostile targets" "So, if Little Red Riding Hood should show up with a bazooka and a bad attitude, I expect you to chin the bitch! There is lots of UK discussion there already. i take it you didn’t READ the original proposal then, before posting? I have.  It doesn’t answer Josey’s question. The suggestion wasn’t that the uk.* group was redundant but that there are UKites on alt.marketing.online.ebay who might be interested in the creation of this group. Seems odd to me that the RFD wasn’t posted in a.m.o.e, since it’s currently the main discussion group for the topic.  Not that I’ll be reading the uk.* group, but a lot of the target audience for that group is currently posting to a.m.o.e.  If somebody’s trying to get a new newsgroup off the ground, such interested people are likely to be useful. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text –      STRAWPOLL: Regarding proposal for uk.people.consumers.ebay Alex Cook, the proponant of the current RFD proposing the new newsgroup uk.people.consumers.ebay, has asked me to conduct this indepdent strawpoll in order to select what is the most popular name for this group. Although there was a fair amount of support for the group, there were many different preferred names, and also the wider issue of whether it should have a more general name, to encompass all online auction sites. This is not a vote on the group’s creation, simply an attempt to narrow down the selection of names for the group to one or two popular ones, to allow the proponent to decide on the best course of action. Since there are a lot of options here, in order to get a conclusive result it would be great to have as many people as possible participating in this poll — so please, if you have an opinion on this, spend a few moments and send in your opinion. This is a multi-option strawpoll (please note this is not an official vote) which will be counted with the Condorcet method, the same method used in multi-option votes in the uk.* hierarchy. So, if you have a preference you would like registered, please take a few moments of your time to complete this poll. You are free to write in any other comments you feel you would like made known, these will be summarised in the results posting. this message should just work). Any questions on the procedure of this poll, just drop me an email. The deadline for receiving these poll papers is just under one week’s time, midnight on Sunday 1st June 2003. Q1.   Please rank these options in order of preference: [   ] A. uk.people.consumers.ebay [   ] B. uk.people.consumers.auctions.ebay [   ] C. uk.people.consumers.auctions.online.ebay [   ] D. uk.people.consumers.online-auctions.ebay [   ] E. uk.people.consumers.online-auctions [   ] F. uk.media.ebay If you would prefer a different option, please write it below: If you have any other comments on this group proposal, please write them below, and they will be summarised in the results posting: — Providing an Independent Strawpolling Service: http://www.whirlnet.co.uk/strawpoll/
