Question:
For the first couple of weeks they were $55. Then they dropped them to $45. I’m returning it with the receipt of $55. and people wonder how k-mart could go out of business.
Yeah, he shold have returned it for $55 and bought it back for $45 in the first place. — My school colors were clear. We used to say, "I’m not naked, I’m in the band."

I probably would have but the Christmas "hot-ness" had worn off for it already.

You’re going to return it to a different store than from where you originally bought it? Basically, that’s pretty darned dishonest on youyr part.. psycho "Last night I played a blank tape at full blast. The mime next door went nuts." Actually, same merchant (KMart), different store is what I meant. They had different prices during the 4 weeks I bought them. For the first couple of weeks they were $55. Then they dropped them to $45. I’m returning it with the receipt of $55. and people wonder how k-mart could go out of business. Plus, we have the explination for why the seller thinks the item won’t be returned… usually people tend to assume everyone is as honest as they themselves are… :-/ Bill I’m sorry, did I miss the dishonest part? Was it the part where I paid $55 for something and am returning it? It’s the part where you admitted paying $45 for it and are using a different receipt to return it for a refund of $55. Yeah, I paid $45 for 75 of them and $55 for 75 of them from the same merchant. I’m returning it with the receipt of $55. Again, where is the dishonesty? It doesn’t matter how many pieces of different prices you bought from a store, it only matters what you paid for the item you are returning. If the online archive went back far enough, I could post a link from my local newspaper where a band of people were arrested for fraud in early November for doing what you are doing, only on a larger scale and with items that COULD be easily IDed (by serial # on file for warranty info as well as to avoid this very thing happening – if the serial # didn’t match, the proof was there) as being returned for more than was paid for them. It isn’t a case of a company’s policy of "price matching" (as was argued here locally) and it isn’t a case of an accidental mixup. The dishonesty is paying an amount for an item and then returning it for more than you paid for it. That constitutes fraud.
You are stealing $10 from the company your are returning it to just as surely as if you reached into an open register, grabbed a $10 bill and then ran. "Character is what you do when no one is looking." I would also add that character is what you do when no one can provide proof otherwise (like your return). Bill
Whatever buddy…..you believe what you want. I paid $55 for 75 of them. I returned one I paid $55 for. You don’t get that? I PAID $55 for one…..I’m RETURNING it for the $55…..seems pretty simple to me. If you can’t see that, then I give up.
It’s not a matter of you giving up….it’s a matter of you trying to prove yourself right….and you’re not.

Get this: I finally received an email back from "John" saying "I have the item here, how do you want me to send it back?". I tell him, knowing how much it costs….which would be about $10. He emails again saying "Do you want insurance?" Yes, I tell him suspiciously. He emails this morning and says "It’s going to cost $20 to ship it back. Send the money to my paypal account and I’ll get it out to you". Anybody think I’ll get the item back? Brian PS. Feedback has already been left both ways.

Remind us what it was worth. I’m too lazy to look. If it’s not too much I’d be tempted to say "keep it". Jc.

Well, if I remember correctly, you sell them for $45. So, the question is: "How much do you pay for them?" Frankly, I would have said "Keep it and enjoy" And don’t foget, he may be sending it back to you nicely wrapped and carefuly packaged

I went ahead and sent the 20 bucks. We’ll, see what happens. you are selling an item you bought for $45, for $45? what’s wrong with this picture…. i think you’ve been ripped for $20, when it should cost him anymore to send it back to you than it did you to send it to him. insurance is only $1.30 for under $50 btw. robert 36 years of providing clues to the clueless at no extra charge! Sorry for the confusion. It cost me $45. I sold it to him for $70. If I pay $20 to get it back, I can return it to the store for $55. I’ll still be ahead. BTW, he did email me and said he sent it yesterday. We’ll see if it shows up. Brian
crazy thought, but once you get the item, you could do a chargeback on the payment, then resend the exact amount. robert 36 years of providing clues to the clueless at no extra charge!

Since he’s already proven himself to be enough of a jerk to not return it when asked nicely, I think you’re now out an additional $20. — My school colors were clear. We used to say, "I’m not naked, I’m in the band."
