What are other hot auctions sites?

Question:

What about eHell.com? It should be a pretty hot site… – David – (in a smart-ass mood tonight) – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -<X What is the next hottest site besides eBay? <X

It is definitely not yahoo auctions. yahoo has a dumbass search mechanism which is devoid of any logic. You can never find anything you want short of browsing full listings in a category. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I’ve heard that Amazon has a pretty good auction. Although it is not free, it’s only $0.10 per item. I was doing very well on Amazon auctions until they put in their zshops.  Since then the auctions have died.  I’ve tried the zshops and they’re also dead.

Hear, hear … my book business has plunged since the zSHOPS went in … but my son’s book business on Amazon seems to be doing well. Go figure.

If I don’t sell on ebay then I’ll put it on Amazon and if it doesn’t sell there I go back to ebay in which most cases it eventually sells.

I started putting items on Yahoo and Amazon back in April. Initially, few to no bids.  However, Yahoo definitely seems to be growing.  Some of my bidders had bought from me on Ebay.  There is a lot more junk on Yahoo and the prices are higher in my section. I was doing well on Amazon until they started their "Z shops" thing.  It made their stock price rise but it killed the auctions.  I don’t know if the Z shops are working for the sellers.  I tried it but no luck. Hmm, I do not think I worded the originall post correctly. I would never in a million years consider leaving eBay. I was looking other auction sites to use as well as eBay. We want to expand our business not kill it :-) Dennis – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – If it ain’t broke why fix it er umm well the bay could use a few tweeks. I am a buyer as well as as a seller. I have no interest in buying anywhere except for Ebay.  I’ve had good experiences there and continue to have good experiences there.  I have no reason to change. — Dave Christian Go ahead a spam me.  I’ll just knock you off like the other 94!

Free usually means its not worth anything… why is no one listing on these sites?

No buyers. Sellers go where the buyers are, even if it costs. I have noticed that there are low numbers of items in catagories, you sould think that this is a good thing. We are just confused as to why we only seem to be doing well on eBay?

Prices are too high on the others, mainly – so not many buyers go there. Low or no fees mean you can afford to ask any price you like and wait forever till someone comes along to buy. (Also, I won’t bid on an electronic auction with that 5 minute thingy going. I suspect most regular buyers feel that way)  As a buyer, I’m looking for bargains… if the items are new, and prices are retail or more, I’m going to buy them retail – and generally speaking they are on the freebee sites. A while back, I used at least to look at them – I don’t even bother anymore. E-Bay is an excellent example of a market at work – supply and demand, the symbiotic relationship between buyer and seller and all that good stuff…..   Dis
