Question:

I speak to Dutch chicks all the time and they say they speak English first, learn it at school etc and are taught in it. If they learn it at school, it’s NOT their first language (unless Dutch children do not communicate with anyone until they go to school). Kris

Also i was told spoke at home

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I’ve been a small time/hobby seller on Ebay for a couple of years now but my sister is new and has a +2 rating after a week. She has just sold an item which the auction terms clearly stated was available in the UK only but where the winner turned out to be in the Netherlands. On my advice she e mailed the winner, pointed them to the relevant UK only parts in the auction and asked them politely if there were able to supply payment in UK funds and a UK address. She received the reply outlined below. Am I right in advising her that she should now complete a FVF claim and if so, should she also let the winner know that she has done that to reclaim her fees? Thanks LX xxxx thank you for your information. We never encounter complications stretching the restrictions initially given on that. I could try to meet your needs but would be going through an awful lot of effort I think. Therefore in conclusion I suggest you relist the item involved ,    best of regards,     xxxx   I’d let them know, I would be filing NPB and leaving neg fb for their not paying attention to the terms of the auction.   However, if they would send $X.xx amount, no bad fb would be left.   Point out that the listing fees and loss of sales DO amount ot a loss which may NOT be recoverable.

English is the Dutch first language so they can read it fine. I often sell to Holland etc, and would sell much less if i didnt sell abroad. OOI why wont ship overseas?

Nell From what I can gather overhearing a humble ticket inspector on a train, the Dutch can speak Dutch, French, German, English and Italian, seemingly without effort. Geoff.

Not this Dutch person ;-) . Dutch and English aren’t a problem (most of the time) for me. I think it might actually be quite handy for a ticket inspector to know a few languages as the chances because of the tourists in the train Nell
