Yes. This always happens once a year when the Ebay "technicians" are busy working up the nerve to ask the cheerleader to their high school prom.

You may be right, actually. eBay seems to often have site glitches right before they institute some sort of new "feature" or change. Ed

It does seem odd that there were glitches with searching eBay reported in here long before the site went down…
Their email notifications on sales and "ask seller a question" were 4 hours behind this morning.

Just found this on the announcement board: We are aware the site is temporarily unavailable. We’re aware of this issue and are working to fix it as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience, eBay " begin 666 x.gif ` end

Sigh. This is going to cost me a couple hundred bucks, at least. And it’s not like I was having a great night anyway….
If eBay decides to do the right thing they will extend or cancel the auctions that ended during this outage. If they don’t, then it’s up to the sellers to do the right thing for themselves. Ed

I was just checking my auctions and couldn’t access anything. So, I thought, hmmmm, let me check the ebay forum…. Wouldn’t ya know! I’m glad it wasn’t just me….but I’m also sorry for the ones who had auctions ending. What a bummer. Will ebay compensate in some way? This happened to me a few years ago and back then, ebay didn’t do anything but refund the listing fee.
The policy used to be that the site had to be down for 2 hours before eBay would do anything about it. I don’t know if that is still the policy (and I can’t check now because the site is down). But, I’m not selling anything that ended during or around this outage no matter what eBay says. They are now at least acknowledging that the site is "temporarily unavailable" on the General Announcement board. Ed

I’m glad it wasn’t just me….but I’m also sorry for the ones who had auctions ending. What a bummer. Will ebay compensate in some way?
