Question:
Under the UCC, shilling is legal if preannounced or a distress sale. If otherwise present, the price simply drops to the preshill level.
Which has nothing to do with the discussion that Don’s auto-responding post-o-bot apparently didn’t actually read. Shilling is not in any manner a criminal offense.
And no one said it was. But it is a violation of the eBay user agreement, as it’s a violation of Policy: <http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/seller-shill-bidding.html It’s also a seller red flag, if it’s actually happening, which it usually isn’t. — http://www.access-one.com/rjn email4rjn AT yahoo DOT com NOT speaking for any employer, client or Internet Service Provider.

I have been bidding on an item, a low dollar item and keep getting bumped off. i finally looked closer since my losing bid was always the same.
If the "shill" is winning the auction then they’re not a shill — or not a successful one anyway. The goal of shilling is to get you to buy the item for the most you’re willing to pay — if the shill wins the auction they’ve got nothing —-== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com – Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==—- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups —-= East and West-Coast Server Farms – Total Privacy via Encryption =—-

I think it was serious a few years ago when there were more buyers and fewer sellers. Now I think anyone considering shilling would be foolish because no matter what is is, 10 others are selling the same thing for less money. Price is everything on eBay. I made a purchase not long ago. I decided to pay no more than 25
